Without spoiling anything, I like that the author wrote her leading man in such a predicament. It felt raw and brought something different to the table. Savage changes in the best way, trying to overcome the past and self doubts he has. Danika reminds me of one of my favorite TV characters, Ms. Cordelia Chase from BTVS & Angel. Cordelia was also a knockout with absolutely no filter. Our leads could be a tad frustrating at times, but they felt real and I cared about them.
